Today, i would like to share a couple of exciting pieces of news with you, as well as the latest info on the development of MOTHERGUNSHIP.
A couple of weeks ago, we were informed by Epic Games that MOTHERGUNSHIP was selected to receive an Unreal Dev Grant! Apart from the financial part - which is of course important and welcomed - this is also a validation and a motivational boost for the hard work that we have been doing so far. It is always a nice feeling to see that your work is appreciated and it helps you to keep trying even harder. If you want to find more information about the latest round of the Unreal Dev Grant, and see all the other games that received one as well, you can visit this page.
We are also very excited to announce that MOTHERGUNSHIP will be at this year’s Gamescom (22-26 August at Cologne, Germany )! It’s a bit too early to share more details, but what i can tell you at this moment is that we will be showcasing a new and more improved build of the game. Keep an eye on our social pages as more info will be shared within the next weeks.
Moreover, there has been quite a lot of progress on the development side since the last blog post. We have spent a lot of time working on major features, such as new enemies, designing new technologies and also refactoring old ones. Along the way, we have been refining the crafting system with exciting new gun parts and prototyped new bosses. We're also always working on equally important, but less exciting stuff to talk about (lately that’s been refining the demo, constructing a saving system, refining spawn camps and how we populate maps, and more). Additionally, the team has grown with a few new members - we have one more 3D artist with us, a new animator, and a new intern who will be helping us with the coding. And finally I’d like to mention something most of you all probably won’t care about, but we found to be extremely useful; we’ve moved all our production and asset tracking to a new system built around the tool Favro. This is a great change for us since we will be able to keep all our work much more organized and concentrated than before.
This is all for now. Stay tuned for more info, since we have a lot of important news coming up within the next weeks! In the meantime, please feel free to contact me on Twitter and share your thoughts or ask any questions. But as always, let’s close this blog post with a quick call to action.
If you haven’t signed up for the MOTHERGUNSHIP mailing list, please do so. This is how you will be notified about closed betas and such. Also, please wishlist the game on Steam and follow our pages on Facebook, and, of course, on Twitter. We’re looking forward to sharing more in the future!
